Eve Reid

Eve Reid's summers are spent at Lake Michigan and in Northern Michigan. Both are strong influences for her impressionistic landscapes. She captures the essence of time passing with the colors and textures of her landscapes. The work evokes thoughts and moods and documents her intuitive response to the environment. These handmade paper pulp paintings are created with fine layers of pigmented paper pulp, which when dry, create an integrated statement.

Recently retired, Reid was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Western Michigan University. She established the hand papermaking area at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, founded the Handmade Paper Guild of Southwest Michigan and continues to teach workshops. She has exhibited in the U.S. and internationally won awards in juried shows and is included in collections.
